About Us
Notary Public Background Check (NPBC) is an open, community-sponsored, program designed to meet the compliance needs of the lending industry by offering a comprehensive, single-source notary signing credential verification and compliance certification program. Credential verification may take the form of:
  1. Identity verification,
  2. Verification of an existing certification,
  3. An independent criminal background screen, and
  4. Verification of an independent criminal background screen.
The program is administered by the National Verification Registry (NVR), currently a service of Notary Rotary. Background screening and reports, where necessary, are provided by A-Check America, our screening partner, and the results are certified by NVR. NVR is also responsible for review of identity and credential documentation, as well as provisioning of the NP Check Click to Verify logo and administration of certification listings on www.notarycheck.com and www.notarypublicbackgroundcheck.com.

In all cases, notary public applicants must appear before another notary public for verification of identity.
