Notary Public Background Check (NPBC) is an open, community-sponsored, program
designed to meet the compliance needs of the lending industry by offering a comprehensive notary background check certification program allowing for independent, third-party verification of results.
The program is a service of the National Verification Registry (NVR), a division of We the Notaries, Inc., a female-owned small business located in Des Moines, Iowa.
NPBC certified its first notary in 2007.
The program is administered by Notary Rotary. Background screening and reports are provided by Crimcheck.com, our screening partner, and the results are certified by NVR. NVR is also responsible for the provisioning of the NP Check Click to Verify logo and administration of certification listings on www.notarycheck.com and www.notarypublicbackgroundcheck.com.
